Going… Going…
… soon to be gone!
I have received and accepted an offer of employment as the Assistant Manager of a prominent pub in the City of Edmonton. The exact nature of the job and whether or not the Assistant part will be dropped will depend upon the outcome of the owners conversation with the current holder of that position, and whether they decide to pull up their socks or walk.
Either way I’ve given my notice here and expect to be out of the valley by Friday which will give me about a week to make a decision as to my future accommodations. I have several options all of which have significant pros and cons. Parking downtown is a real problem… so it’s something I definitely need to consider carefully. I also have a great deal of stuff sitting in storage both at Anne’s and in a storage locker at a self-storage place – pretty much enough to furnish a small house, so a bachelors suite would mean continued storage, but I have a line on a place that would be a block from the pub, and would be really, really cheap.
Also, I am preparing to return to University… not in the coming session but in Fall of 2007. That should give me enough time to get used to a lower standard of living as a scrimp and save in preparation for the under-employment of student life.
I’m wrapping up things here, and expect to have a going away party Wednesday…
