Life Is Not Purgatory

It’s a Wrap!
This was an interesting and mostly productive trip up to Edmonton, tying up the loose ends on a couple of outstanding issues the most prominent being Purgatory. Although I did manage to ambush the ex and settle the matter that ‘vexed me so’ as mentioned in my last posting.
I had thought that we had ended the relationship cordially (although apparently in recent revisionist history that apparently wasn’t the case), and I was doing my best to be supportive of her new relationship and wishing her the best. However, apparently she had been busily focusing upon all the negative aspects of me and our relationship and was consequently vilifying me… and I could see it. Now conversing with her is a challenge at the best of times, and this case is not exception. But I got my concerns off my chest, and I spoke honestly and frankly. She is now free to hate me or not as she wishes – I’m not going to worry about it any further.
The Purgatory wrap party on the other hand was a very positive experience for me, well worth the hit in the paycheck for taking an additional two nights off work. I think I am in a much healthier mindset now and am prepared to join Anne and Dave in running Purgatory 3, pending a stable network connection or relocation to Edmonton.
There was a dark shadow that I blundered into (in my typical way), as I entered into a very uncomfortable conversation with a friend who is going through a tough time. I touched on a very raw nerve – Ooops. They say that then road to hell is paved with good intentions, and I have rarely seen a more apt display of human ignorance in action – that I displayed there.
In other news, I have an interview next week for a position in Grande Prairie – the salary figure is sufficient for me to at least entertain the notion…. I’ll keep people informed.
