A Sign
At 11:30am MST I was dismissed from my employment as Rooms Division Manager. Although I was stunned by the situation, I cannot say that I was surprised. Several times over this past month I have sat in my office considering tendering my resignation; and I'll admit I said aloud alone in my office (at about 10:15am) after getting off the phone with a particualilly nasty guest, "I'm done."
It was a very amicable departure. I was not 'walked' from the hotel. I still attended the 1:30pm meeting of the AECH Security Committee (of which I was Vice-Chair). I returned at 3:00pm to clean out my desk and then surrendered my keys. The cellphone I get to keep until the end of November, when my benfits will expire.
All told, I'm not 'upset' - just stunned. I will need a little bit of time to centre myself and find out what I want to do. Right now, I'm at a loss for words.
