Merry Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through my work,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a jerk;
The year-end was strewn 'cross the desk without care,
In hopes that my anureism soon would be there;

LoTR - 7th Sea Adapation Update
Races - Balanced
Armor - Stolen from the Cathay book... and it works!
Magic - In progress, I think most it is going to inflict flesh wounds, and generally have the feel of Glamour or Laerdom. (Referencing MERP's RoleMaster spell lists for ideas).

TeeHee... this is fun.

The Spirit of Christmas
So... I have not caught the 'Christmas Spirit' at all so far this year. I went shopping (last minute as always), and found most of what I wanted, but all-in-all. I don't feel in the mood fopr Christmas this year. I can feel myself slowly (ever so slowly) getting into the mood but it much, much later this year than normal. Anyways, I have Christmas cards to write, gifts to wrap, and a heart to melt. Seasons Greetings to you all, and to all a good night!
Mood: Mr. Grinch (slowly melting)

Lord of the Rings
So.. I have seen Return of the King, three times, each with a different group of friends. Ah! Good Movie!

It has gotten me to thinking how interesting the Tolkien universe is and how majestic a gaming setting it could be, but the only gaming system made for that universe is RoleMaster: a horrid, wretched, and overly-complex system that turns what should be a heroic adventure into a 'HackMaster quest' to find the appropriate weapon or spell table in order to resolve a bar fight. I have problems with a system where its plausible that the hero could sudbue a great threat and stagger hom bloddied and wounded, only to finally done in by tripping on a gopher hole, breaking thier leg and bleeding at 20 hits per round until you die in six rounds. Sigh! There must be other options for this setting right?

So... I have started work on adapting the 7th Sea rules system to fit Middle-Earth.... and so far I am quite pleased with my progress. Don and Dan have offered thier assistance in this endeavor, and I hope to playtest sometime in January. Wheeeeeeeeeee!

Rebuke
My work is important to me, regardless of all my petty gripes and bickering about the small things that annoy the hell out of me. I enjoy working where I work and whom I work with. It is however, a source of excellent fodder for this weblog and regardless of how much I enjoy my job, I sometimes need to vent about the small little annoying things that happen, to the amusement of my readers. Apparently, this is no longer an option. I have been asked to discontinue posting regarding work because of an incident that developed as a result of one of my posts. I do not know if I am going to continue with this weblog, or if this latest volley of fire has put a dying animal out of its misery.
