Standing With Vertical Motion
So... I got stood up. I arived at the appointed time, at the apointed coffee shop and even got direction to the place from the 'L.B.B' who used to work for me... bad directions... but directions nonetheless. I ordered a blueberry-apple tea and waited a half an hour. So then I went to my old place of work to harrass my old staff and meet the new girl so that she could put a face to the name of the 'infamous' Cameron.

I then got a call from the young lady I was supposed to meet, apparently there was some confusion over it being at Timothy's or at Tim Horton's... so we will try again on Monday.

Yahoo!
So... I'm going out for 'coffee' tommorow morning with someone I met online through the Yahoo! Personals service. We have talked a bit through messenger, and there is never any harm in meeting new people, right?

Pinch Me - Barenaked Ladies
It's the perfect time of year
Somewhere far away from here
I feel fine enough, I guess
Considering everything's a mess
There's a restaurant down the street
Where hungry people like to eat
I could walk but I'll just drive
It's colder than it looks outside

It's like a dream you try to remember
But it's gone
Then you try to scream
But it only comes out as a yawn
When you try to see the world
Beyond your front door
Take your time, is the way I rhyme gonna make you smile
When you realize that a guy my size might take a while
Just to try to figure out what all this is for

It's the perfect time of day
To throw all your cares away
Put the sprinkler on the lawn
And run through with my gym shorts on
Take a drink right from the hose
And change into some drier clothes
Climb the stairs up to my room
Sleep away the afternoon

Like a dream you try to remember
But it's gone
Then you try to scream
But it only comes out as a yawn
When you try to see the world
Beyond your front door
Take your time is the way I rhyme gonna make you smile
When you realize that a guy my size might take a while
Just to try to figure out what all this is for

Pinch me, pinch me, cause I'm still asleep
Please God tell me that I'm still asleep

On an evening such as this
It's hard to tell if I exist
If I pack the car and leave this town
You'll notice that I'm not around
I could hide out under there
I just made you say "underwear"
I could leave but I'll just stay
All my stuff's here anyway

Like a dream you try to remember
But it's gone
Then you try to scream
But it only comes out as a yawn
When you try to see the world
Beyond your front door
Take your time is the way I rhyme gonna make you smile
When you realize that a guy my size might take a while
Just to try to figure out what all this is for

Pinch me
Try to figure out what all this is for
Pinch me
Try to see the world beyond your front door
Pinch me
Try to figure out what all this is for

Ranting
If I am giving you a ride somewhere – don’t fucking critique my driving. Especially after you have been warned not to, and doing so on the way back from a Quest, while I am in a surly mood because I had a crappy weekend, and have capped it all off by being called into work for the 3:00pm shift because the person scheduled is stuck in Grande Prairie due to ‘vehicle problems’. I will never give that individual a ride anywhere again.

This was supposed to be a nice, relaxing, fun weekend… yet all I did was get crapped on all weekend, and forced to work while tired, cranky and sore, as the crown jewel on a headpiece of fecal matter.

It's cold out, but we cannot have the heat on because its going to be 20 degrees outside tomorrow. I am out of portable heaters, and the housekeeping department left me no blankets. I have no houseperson on shift, so that makes it me.

I have cranky guests, a trainee on shift, and myself as a manager trying desperately to contain his anger and rage while running around the hotel like a chicken with his head cut off, doing his paperwork, fixing the computers, fixing the credit card machine, trying to remove an unholy smell of mold from the elevator, and doing up the cash deposits from the long weekend.

With a long-weekend like this, I can't wait to suffer the aneurysm that is surely going to remove all the stress from my life.

I am not coming to work tommorow.

Lazarus - On Quest Sex
I’m not a prude… far from it.

I do not care if you are a little feisty and want to get some action in the bushes, in a cabin, in a car, in a canoe… whatever.

However, if you are feisty and jealous that others are getting it and you aren’t don’t growl about it. Especially when a friend of one (maybe even both) is sitting at the campfire next to you. I am really beginning to despise the petty rivalries between women in LRPS. That and the assumptions are really annoying me. Just because two individuals disappear from the campfire area at about the same time does not mean they are ‘skronking’.

I was about to intervene on their behalf, but as I have been sworn to secrecy on the existence of their relationship until it has gone public, intervening to enlighten them (on the state of the relationship) would only have worsen matters by letting a poorly-kept secret out. That also would have elevated closet resentment for the woman in question, up to open-resentment.

Once Upon A Fairy Tale
Well… MayQuest has come and gone, and truth be told it was neither the fun or enjoyment I expected from a long-weekend getaway. I bickered with the quest organizer over some issues and apparently botched two calls (because of poor instructions), I pretty much wanted to leave after the game was called on the first night.

The highlight of the weekend for me was actually a brief canoe trip with Danielle, John and Andrea. The sunset was beautiful, the water was calm, and I realized how little of the outdoors I have been seeing recently. I reminisced about a canoe trip my father and I took in Wells Gray Park in BC several years ago.

I think I am going to plan another trip somewhere like that this summer…. I think I need to do it and with a little luck maybe I’ll find a romantic partner interested in the same. Regardless, any of my friends (readers) who would be interested… let me know.

Arm Decorations
My thanks to April for agreeing to be my arm decoration for the 3rd Annual –You’re Welcome Awards. I had fun and I got to meet up and talk with an old friend of mine back from my University days. I think I am going to make it a habit to drag some of my female friends out with me to industry functions in the future.

The Good Relationship – A Modern Myth?
I had lunch yesterday with a friend of mine who consistently gets into relationship train wrecks. Her new significant other was griping the other day that he always seems to attract those individuals who are hot off the heels of a bad relationship with the only thing intact being their emotional baggage. Well.. I hate to hand it to you buddy… but if they were happy with that relationship… it would not have ended.

Regardless I have come to the conclusion that regardless of the amicability of any breakup, the relationship will always be perceived as ‘bad’ as it is our nature as humans to look at all that went wrong in that relationship rather than what went right.

Anybody care to join me in a ‘bad’ relationship? - I already know the answer to that question.
